2019 – WEDNESDAY 24 JULY
DEALING WITH YOUR PAST
YOUR PAST COMES KNOCKING
Your past is actually not real.
It has no life nor power over you – except that which you give it.
Your past comes as memories – echos – shadows and regrets.
None of these can withstand the light of God’s promises concerning your future.
NEVER LET YOUR PAST LIVE ON
Yesterday is gone. It is dead and buried. It must be left in the grave and never mourned for.
Never build a shrine of remembrance to a past hurt or defeat.
Your past begs to be kept alive for another day.
When you surrender your past and put it under the blood of Jesus it is destroyed completely.
Your past is not your reality.
Now faith is always in the promises of God for a better day.
NEVER LET YOUR PAST CONTROL YOUR CONVERSATIONS
You past often wants to stand up in a crowd and take control of the conversation.
When the past speaks – the crowd cowers in silence.
Is the blood of Abel speaking – or the blood of Christ.
Learn to live in the present and speak of your future plans and dreams – not your past injuries and upsets.
Being blood washed – is freedom from all condemnation from the past.
NEVER LET YOUR PAST PLAN YOUR FUTURE
Planning for the future must never be built on your past performance.
Putting your past under the blood of Jesus gives you freedom to dream of better things.
We gain wisdom from lessons learned – but the future in God is gloriously above and beyond anything in our past.
NEVER LET YOUR PAST BEOME YOUR TEMPLATE
It is sad to watch people create a template for their life – modelled on their past – and then see them decades later being exactly the same in all they do.
Learn to reinvent yourself – and pay the price to stay alive in today’s world – and your current season.
The past will always try and reel you back into your old ways.
THE PAST HAS NO POWER OVER THE RIGHTEOUS
We must press on toward the prize of our highest calling in Christ.
He that has begun a good work in you will complete it by His power.
When we put our past under the blood – we are cleansed from all unrighteousness.
To fail to do this is to invite your past to journey with you into your future.
