HE THOUGHT IT WAS HIS RIGHT – PART ONE

Solomon is such an interesting leader to study.
Blessed to be in Israel during a season of favour and blessing – and given the kingdom by his father in the faith.
Solomon lost the glorious kingdom – and Israel the great nation went into oblivion – because Solomon allowed pride to enter his heart.

HOW COULD HE GET IT SO WRONG
Solomon asked God for WISDOM TO RULE OVER HIS PEOPLE and was granted his request.
However he forgot to ask God for GRACE TO REIGN IN LIFE and went searching for meaning in every other thing.

HE THOUGHT IT WAS HIS GIFT
It did not take Solomon long to believe that he had a great gift of wisdom. He believed he had an innate ability to be wise – yet he became a fool.
He had a great ability with the pen of wisdom – but little ability to wield the sword of truth.

HE THOUGHT IT WAS HIS RIGHT
It is God who promotes to His throne. Does not matter who gave you the throne – or how you ascended to your elevated position. It is God who puts up and pulls down. It is not your right to protect your throne by any means.

HE THOUGHT HE COULD BE EXCUSED
Solomon’s journey of insanity – showed his arrogance – in acknowledging God – while accommodating other gods.
A little latitude here and there can’t hurt. Wrong again.
