2019 – FRIDAY 17 MAY
HONOURING WRONG DOERS
So now we call the proud blessed,
For those who do wickedness are raised up;
They even tempt God and go free.’ ”
I am challenged and saddened to watch churches and leaders validate failure and wrong doing – finding ways to declare failing people innocent of any issue.
All under the cloak of kindness.
WE ARE NOT REDEEMERS
Only God, through the blood of Christ, can redeem us from sin and death.
WE ARE RESTORERS
We are to help restore people to righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)
To restore people to righteousness – means there is an issue to be repented of – and redeemed from.
Kindness gives people a second chance.
Redemption gives people a new beginning.
DECLARING PEOPLE INNOCENT – CANCELS THE REDEMPTIVE PROCESS
We must be very careful not to absolve people of failure – and ungodly life choices – under the guise of kindness.
God’s word is still our guide to blessing – and our warning of judgment. To be restored to righteousness – requires repentance and cleansing.
LOVE THE FAILING PERSON ENOUGH TO HELP THEM
The modern church has lost the word hell from their preaching.
There is no heaven to be gained – without a hell to be redeemed from.
John 3:16 – FOR SINNERS
Whoever believes in Christ shall be saved (heaven) and shall not perish (hell)
1 John 1:9 – FOR SAINTS
Whoever confesses their sin will be forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness.
