2019 – FRIDAY 11 OCTOBER
KEEPING THE FAITH
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
I sit in awe of people of faith whom I have been able to watch over my lifetime. Many are not great up front leaders – but just honest, faithful and loyal lovers of God and His church.
FAITH FROM GOD. Can keep you faithful in all His ways, and in all His works.
FINDING YOUR FAITH
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
It is the quickened word that inspires your faith.
FULFILLING YOUR FAITH
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
FAITH CALLS THINGS INTO BEING
Abraham and Sarah knew that their marriage could no longer be fruitful in producing children.
They chose to delight in the promise from God and began speaking and acting in faith.
Sure enough – Isaac was born and their joy was full.
RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS OF FAITH
Self righteousness is deception.
Righteousness from God is received by faith – and is then outworked and revealed through your faith.
DYING IN FAITH
Having believed the promises and having seen them afar off – the Old Testament saints embraced them – and clung to them – until in death they were promoted to the fulness of every promise.
