LEARNING TO PRAISE

Psalm 7:17
I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness,
And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

PRAISE IS AN ACT OF THE WILL
Praise begins as an act of your will.
We sometimes have to decide to praise God – even when life is not showing God’s hand in the manner we expected.
The first benefit of praise is to get you lifting up your head.
I will rejoice and be glad.
I will declare His goodness.
I will praise the Lord.
If you won’t will it – you won’t do it.

PRAISE FINDS A REASON
Praise finds a reason to be vocal.
Praise Him according to His righteousness.
My highest reason to praise the Lord – is because He has made me the righteousness of God in Christ.

PRAISE IS EMOTIVE
Sing – shout – jump and dance – when praising God.
Get emotive. You do so at a sporting events. Your emotions reveal your love affairs – and emotional praise reveals your love affair with your God.
Put some real effort into your praise and watch how God responds.

PRAISE IDENTIFIES THE RECIPIENT
Use the name of the Lord Most High and be expressive in your praise of His name.
The world loves to name and shame.
The righteous love to name and fame.
Declare the benefits of being called by His name.
Stop crying out to God in your name – and persist in praising His name.
Identify the name of the Lord Most High in all your praise.
How you praise in private – determines how you praise in public.

PRAISE HIS NAME
ABOVE ALL OTHERS
