POVERTY AND LAZINESS
Proverbs 24:33 (Message)
A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there, sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next?
Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, with poverty as your permanent house guest!
1. POVERTY IS A SPIRIT NOT A CIRCUMSTANCE
Being poor is circumstantial and can happen to anyone from time to time.
However, poverty is a spirit and affects everything it touches.
2. POVERTY AND LAZINESS ARE TWINS
Laziness is the older twin of poverty. He always enters your life first.
He prepares a dwelling place for poverty.
3. POVERTY JUSTIFIES ITSELF
Poverty always convinces you that it is not your fault. You are the victim.
It was inevitable. It could happen to anyone.
4. BEING POOR IS SEASONAL
Wise people know that there will be seasons of lack in their lives.
Often a new venture can empty the storehouse and cause people to be poor for a season. Unfortunate events can also make you poor for a while.
However, they also know that as they sow, so shall they reap.
5. NEVER MAKE ROOM FOR POVERTY
Once poverty takes up residence in your world – you must take drastic action and cast him out of your house.
You do so by expelling his lies from your thoughts – and renewing your mind with the promises of God.
6. POVERTY HATES HARD WORK
Decide to work hard to see increase in your world. Poverty will never stick around where there is hard work.
Get up from your sofa or bed and get busy doing anything.
Hard work drives out poverty and before long that new job or new opportunity presents itself to you.
“He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.”
