2019 – THURSDAY 16 MAY
SHAME OFF YOU
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
SIN BRINGS SHAME
The promise of “shame off you” is unrealistic unless the root of sin is dealt with by a loving God.
Kindness can never remove shame – it simply helps sew fig leaves.
WE ARE BORN INTO SHAME
Truth is – we are born into a sin cursed world – and taught to cover our shame – from our earliest memories.
SHAME HIDES FROM TRUTH
Shame always finds a hiding place. The truth shall make you free. The truth produces transparency – whereas sin covers up and hides from truth.
SHAME RETREATS FROM GOD
Shame stops you abiding – and causes you to go into hiding.
Everyone can see when you are wearing the fig leaves of self righteousness.
SHAME FIXES THE BLAME
The woman made me do it! Shame always has someone else to blame.
While you justify yourself – shame will be your companion.
SHAME BOWS TO THE NAME
The name of Jesus can defeat any work of sin and shame.
Break the spirit of fear and shame and apply the blood of the new covenant – and be free.
SHAME OFF YOU
To be free of shame for any failure in life – is to allow God to remove your flimsy fig leaves and replace them with the blood of sacrifice and cleansing.
Without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin, nor release from shame.
