Learning to handle failure is the essence of leadership.
No-one who has achieved anything of note has escaped the pain of failure.
Let me tell you why failure is so good for you.
1. Failure reminds us that we are flawed beings needing grace from above
2. Failure identifies our current limits and boundaries
3. Failure reveals our tolerance levels to pressure, pain & stress
4. Failure keeps the door of forgiveness open to others
5. Failure reveals unhealthy mindsets and attitudes
6. Failure reveals your soul strength and bounce back ability
7. Failure takes you ONE STEP closer to – or further away – from your dreams
8. Failure reveals your true friends
9. Failure makes you dependent on others
10. Failure hidden – perpetuates failure – but if acknowledged – increases wisdom
11. Failure reveals the heartlessness of organizations and structures
12. Failure is the ever present companion in an increasing life.

WHO YOU FOLLOW

WHO YOU FOLLOW – DETERMINES WHO YOU CAN LEAD.

The art of leadership is determined by who you follow – which then affects who you can get to follow you.

The level of our leadership is markedly changed by our associations with those ahead of us.

The people following you – often demand your attention toward them – when what they really need – is to release you to learn from those ahead of you on the journey.

By associating with bigger, larger, bolder, more visionary, and more generous people, you will be inspired to return to your community and emulate the attitudes and examples seen in those at the next level.

The next level is not found by climbing a set of stairs. The next level is attained by copying and acting like those who already have attained it.

If you give all your attention to maintaing what you now, have you will never have enough faith and stamina to launch out and have a go at something you learned from those ahead of you.

The more time you spend with next level people – the more their behaviour will become normal for you.

It is normal for us to gravitate to people with whom we are comfortable. However such people will never inspire you to do the unthinkable and the impossible.

Mixing with people at the next level will demand actions and investments of you, that at first you think are impossible.

However if you persist in such actions you will eventually find yourself at home in such company.

The kind of people I like to follow – are those who have been in their roles long enough to overcome some challenges and stay on course.

They are people who have more than a head full of books – but also have a heart full of passion.

They are people who are inclusive and not exclusive of people at all levels.

They are people who give you their time – their insights and their support when needed.

I love following big thinking people. It frightens me sometimes – but it always keeps me reaching higher.

Thank God for Godly people who like to be followed.

Room with a view

We checked into our room at Air on the Gold Coast on the 30th floor. The views along the beach back to Surfers Paradise are amazing.
However the furniture in the room had been arranged so that everyone could sit and watch TV. Which meant that we all had our backs to the view and were sitting looking at a wall.
Can’t help but think that some people do life like that. Instead of looking at the constant unfolding of life with wonder they tend to sit and watch the same repeat programs with the same old attitudes over and over.
Life is an amazIng gift from God.
1. His mercies are new and fresh every morning.
2. His people are constantly changing.
3. His creation declares His praise continually.
4. His gifts of grace are unique for every new day.
5. His strength is sufficient for every new challenge.
6. His forgiveness makes every new day a fresh canvas.
7. His provision can pay the way for new steps of faith.
And most of all His Coffee is new and fresh every morning – giving meaning to the moment and hope for the future.

Creative Leadership

The challenge of life is to grow your leadership gift. I believe that every person created in the image of God is born with a leadership gift. To develop this gift to serve your generation is the real challenge of life.
There are three qualities that need to be developed to see our leadership influence increase.
1. Future scope
This is the ability to see into the future and focus on the dreams God has put within you.
Your future is not in tomorrow but in the next level above you. You can live your future today by chosing to pay the price to go to the next level.
The next level is always within our reach. To go up requires three things. You must look up – reach up & give up.
Remember – to go up you have to give up.
2. Future planning
Good leaders do not wait for life to come to them, they are always planning ahead. Proactive leadership always initiates and activates rather than waiting to see what eventuates.
Do today what you want to enjoy tomorrow.
Good harvests come from planning to plant – not planning to reap.
Plan to sow today and your harvests will come naturally into your life.
3. Future friends
You must choose your friends with the future in mind. Commit to people who want to go and grow with you in life.
Influence those around you to keep reaching higher. Be the catalyst for growth in your group. Take a leadership role in dealing with attitudes and actions that limit your progress together. The mark of good leaders is the number of people they take with them to the next level. SJP

We only have three days to live
Yesterday
Today
Tomorrow
It is so important to live these three days well as they are always with us.
To do so we need to live with the three great Kingdom attitudes in 1 Cor 13:13
Faith, Hope & Love
1. Exit yesterday with LOVE
Have you met people who leave one relationship or employment or church and all they can do is keep taking shots at yesterday. Basically it is the evidence of unforgivemess and will be a prison that keeps them locked in yesterday. Sad people – and the world is full of them. The problem with being a prisoner to yesterday is that all your hope is always on tomorrow. You miss the joy of today. They never stay in one place for long and are prisoners to hope that tomorrow will bring something better. How you exit yesterday – affects how you enter today.
2. Enter today with FAITH
Faith believes for the best.
Faith focusses on today, right here and now.
Faith stands firm in today when things are not going well
Faith doesn’t blame others
Faith invests into today wholeheartedly
3. Plan tomorrow with HOPE
Keep a positive hope about your future
You can’t do this if you are a prisoner to your past.
Jesus actually calls tomorrow – forever. Make sure your hope for tomorrow is a forever hope. Once you settle your eternal future it affects everything you ever hope for.
Try living the three day life.
Jesus is the “I AM” of yesterday – today – and forever.

THE SEVEN ATTITUDES OF A BLESSED MAN

I have completed a series on Deuteronomy 28 where the Bible reveals the seven attitudes of a blessed person.

In the series you will learn the following;

1. I AM BLESSED IN MY POSITION

I am called to be a number one in life. I must learn to live in the number one position and to do so I must accept that the higher I go the more the rule of
