DREAMS DEMAND THAT YOU THINK

Thomas Edison was an inventor with over 1000 patents to his credit.

He made this remarkable observation of his generation.

“Five percent of the people think. Ten percent think they think, and the other eighty five percent would rather die than think.”

Bertram Russell – philosopher and Nobel Prize winner agrees.

He said, “There is nothing men fear so much as thought.”

Dreams will demand of you reasonable thought.

Without such you will remain seated around the campfires of passion, emotion and circumstance.

Once you encounter your “burning bush” you must then think – until you work out a strategy to take the fire of conviction with you, into the challenge of life.

Dont remain a dreamer all your life. Act on the dream before you now – and think – until a plan of action takes shape.

DREAMS CREATE CONVICTIONS

Convictions are the eternal foundations laid within your spirit (your inner core), upon which you build the house of your dreams.

The stronger your convictions in life, the stronger the foundations of your life!

Convictions are the core beliefs you have allowed to embed within your spirit, which; as you grow, form the foundation of your world view and behaviour.

These convictions form in your life in three ways;

1. CULTURE People and values you are exposed to as you grow – form our convictions within.

2. CRISIS Circumstances can impact a person to such a degree that convictions are formed or changed.

3. CONCEPTION Conceiving of a dream or desire within your spirit will create a conviction which then ignites the fires of passion.

Without convictions your house of dreams has no invisible or eternal foundations.

DREAMS MUST EMBRACE BOTH DUST AND STARS

God told Abraham to count the stars in the heavens above him, and the sand of the desert beneath his feet

Your dream must have the ability to touch the lofty heights of impossibility, and yet still be earthed in the mundane realities of everyday routine.

Make sure your dream is big enough to make you reach for the stars, and yet real enough to motivate you to apply it in the routines of everyday life.

If your dream cannot be found in today’s activities it is probably still just a good idea, or perhaps even a fantasy, in your mind.

Focus on your dream until it strikes in your spirit and produces conviction, and your dream will then become the foundation of everything you do.

Dreams are accomplished when dust and destiny work together toward a common goal.

DREAMS ARE BORN IN YOUR SPIRIT

Every human being has a dream capacity.

It is your God given link with the invisible world.

Dreams are conceived in your spirit and then grow within you.

While a thought is still in your mind, it is simply a good idea, but when it strikes in your spirit – a dream is born.

Conception must take place before a DREAM CONVICTION is born, so keep thinking on that creative thought until it strikes in your spirit.

Once it strikes inside you, conviction is born.

Convictions then produce passion: and from passion comes your enthusiasm or life energy.

Whatever you are passionate about – you will pursue.

Dreams are born in the eternal realm of your spirit, and then produce inspired thoughts and ideas, which in turn produce action and behaviour.

DONT WASTE YOUR ANGER

I played golf recently with a friend who was having quite a good round. Suddenly his fortunes changed and he had a couple of holes that blew out his score.

Then a very poor drive followed, at which he lost his cool and angrily hurled his driver into a tree. Luckily it did not break and he then went and sheepishly retrieved it making some half funny comment to diffuse the situation.

The Bible says “be angry and sin not” In other words, “don’t waste your anger on trivial things.”

To expend anger over an errant golf drive is to waste a strong emotion on a trivial thing.

Anger can be a positive or negative emotion and by its strength usually propels people into action.

Positive anger is a strong emotion focussed toward a noble cause or conviction. Negative anger is when we expend such a strong emotion on trivial or unimportant matters.

It is amazing to me that a grown person can get so angry over a bad golf drive, but nonchalantly watch a documentary on people smuggling or child abuse without a hint of emotion.

Parents who express anger over trivial matters when dealing with their children will find their influence diluted when it comes time to being angry over the things that matter.

To lose your cool over an untidy room whilst not blinking over the mind polluting rubbish served up to our young via the media, is to completely miss the heart of the matter.

What about getting angry over the wastefulness of over-government, or the greed of the banks, or perhaps the blatant exploitation of the young by the smoking and alcohol lobbies.

Anger is a genuine extreme emotion that should propel people into action concerning their deep convictions.

To waste your extreme emotions on trivia is a sin, because it demonstrates a lack of control over your strong emotions.

If it happens over a golf swing, it will happen as road rage, or wife abuse, or in many other ways that are really negative and destructive.

Learn to control your inner self and your outer world will respond. Create the habit of using your strong emotions on issues that are extremely important to you and yours.

Your strong emotions are far too important in the big scheme of things to be wasted on trivial matters.

You don’t just need an anger management course; you need to take control over your inner self including your emotions, and learn to express them in a profitable way for all involved.
