Preaching the word of God is the greatest privilege on earth.

To be able to present eternal truth in human words is an amazing opportunity.

Every so often God allows you to see behind the obvious and grasp a little of His amazing wisdom and grace. It is these messages that become special in your life.

They are deeply impacting and life changing.

Every message I preach or receive is a blessing and accomplishes much, but there are landmarks that we all have received, that have changed the way we see or do life.

I want to post some of the messages that God has given to me – that I believe have the capacity to be life changing.

Some of the messages posted will be pastoral and probably preached in my last church.

Others will be prophetic and bring a real challenge to live in the centre of God’s purposes.

So as of now you will start to see more messages being posted in both audio and video format.

As for me – the sun is out in South East Queensland again so I may just get a game of golf in at last.

DREAMS HAPPEN AROUND DREAMERS

People who love to dream see things others never see, because they have developed the ability to DREAM SCOPE.

They look beyond the obvious evidence seen by the natural eye, and use their DREAM SCOPE to see into the invisible realm of unlimited potential.

DREAM SCOPE is the faculty used by all successful dreamers. It is also called in the Bible; the EYE OF FAITH.

“Dream Scopers” see opportunity in everything.

That’s why it seems as though successful people often get the lucky break.

Truth is – they saw the potential others did not see.

They have simply learnt to use their DREAM SCOPE – and so dreams happen all the time for them.

Start seeing the possibilities for good in your present circumstances and you will soon find that dreams start to materialise all around you.

LIFE! IT BEGINS WITH A DREAM

People are created to dream.

Some of our fondest memories are of our unbridled childhood dreams.

Dreams of greatness!

Dreams of a happy life!

Dreams of wealth!

Dreams of perfect relationships!

You and I were made to dream great dreams.

I want to give you my dream-ology, that I hope will awaken within you the love of dreaming.

It is essential that we learn how to dream great dreams, for it is out of our dreams that our destiny unfolds and a blessed life becomes our inheritance.

May the God of all good things fill your heart with all joy in believing, as you dare to dream the greatest of dreams.

Money – money – money.

I was taking to a businessman the other day who has decided to be a partner with us in our ministry.
We got to talking about money and it’s effect on people and he came up with a good statement that his Pastor said to him often.
“Get money out of your heart and God will get it into your pocket.”
There are a number of key truths we must live by to handle money well.
1. God has promised to prosper those who do His will.
2. We need money to change the world for good
3. Money is simply a medium for influence
4. The love of money is the root of all evil
5. Where you sow your money – you send your heart
6. Where you heart lives – becomes your world.
7. Your world can be changed for good by the way you use money.

God has never been against His people having influence for good.
It is the love of money that makes us live in a self focussed world.
Make it your purpose to use what you have to change the world for good.
If you can keep the love of money out of your heart- God will get money into your pocket so you can sow it into what you love.

Exits and entries

There is always divided opinion on the importance of both exits and entries. Some wax eloquent that exits are the greatest judge of a person, whereas others put more focus on the way a person begins a new project, relationship or season.
The Bible clearly shows where God puts His emphasis.
God told the people of Israel to record their journey to the promised land according to their beginnings. Tiherefore the account of their journeying is recorded after each new destination they planned.
You see – endings should take care of themselves. If you start the day well it will continue well.
If you start a new relationship on the right foundations then it will continue well.
If you begin a journey with the right attitude it will go well for you.
Endings are important – but they should take care of themselves if they are viewed as the open doors to a new beginning.
It is only when an ending has inherent within it a sense of loss that people struggle to accept it and then handle it badly.
However handling new beginnings well is of even greater importance as it lays a foundation for the next season of your life which in turn is shaping the future endings you will experience. Always begin with the end in mind.
Here are my recommendations for beginning a new season or project etc.
1. Accept it as God’s doing and therefore a gift from above.
2. Begin humbly – new seasons always make you look good.
3. Don’t despise the previous season – somebody worked hard to get to this point.
4. Dont take on something with a prejudice plan- wait to spy out the land first.
5. Love the excitement of new beginnings and draw strengh from the adrenalin rush it provides.
6. Don’t sell off what previous pioneers have given their lives to possess.
7. Do begin with awesome faith and joy as God is allowing you an opportunity to step up to a new level of grace and favour.
I am personally starting a new season in 2010 and am looking to God for it to be my most fruitful ever.
I am also very mindful that the way I start this new season will have a lot to do with how I finish it.
I want to start with the end in mind.

We only have three days to live
Yesterday
Today
Tomorrow
It is so important to live these three days well as they are always with us.
To do so we need to live with the three great Kingdom attitudes in 1 Cor 13:13
Faith, Hope & Love
1. Exit yesterday with LOVE
Have you met people who leave one relationship or employment or church and all they can do is keep taking shots at yesterday. Basically it is the evidence of unforgivemess and will be a prison that keeps them locked in yesterday. Sad people – and the world is full of them. The problem with being a prisoner to yesterday is that all your hope is always on tomorrow. You miss the joy of today. They never stay in one place for long and are prisoners to hope that tomorrow will bring something better. How you exit yesterday – affects how you enter today.
2. Enter today with FAITH
Faith believes for the best.
Faith focusses on today, right here and now.
Faith stands firm in today when things are not going well
Faith doesn’t blame others
Faith invests into today wholeheartedly
3. Plan tomorrow with HOPE
Keep a positive hope about your future
You can’t do this if you are a prisoner to your past.
Jesus actually calls tomorrow – forever. Make sure your hope for tomorrow is a forever hope. Once you settle your eternal future it affects everything you ever hope for.
Try living the three day life.
Jesus is the “I AM” of yesterday – today – and forever.

MIXING WITH GREAT PEOPLE

I had the privilege of speaking on Tuesday at the Hillsong Staff Camp in the Blue Mountains. It was an awesome experience and I have returned to KINGS so inspired from seeing a team of 400 staff in love & unity together. I felt as though I had been planted amongst greatness. And yet there is such a humility amongst the team and a recognition that God has graced them to have influence and to be a blessing to the global church.

I have a few observations from my short visit with them.

1. There is a definite sense of passion and expectation for the future.

2. There is a willingness to go forward and change to keep growing in God.

3. There is a culture of honour among them that causes all to rise to greater levels of effectiveness and influence.

4. There is a willingness to follow and support Godly leadership – and to stand as one man together.

Something awesome is happening at Hillsong and just I think this years Hillsong Conference will be the best we have ever experienced.

WHY PEOPLE SAY NO TO GOD

LUKE 10:30

“A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.”

Life sucks! You hear people saying this all the time, to describe their awful journey through life.

The truth is that life on this sinful planet can be unfair and tough at times, and we all need to know how to turn to God for His help.

Notice how life treated the man in the above verse.

FELL AMONG THIEVES

Sometimes sinful people highjack our lives for no particular reason.

STRIPPED OFF HIS CLOTHES

Sin always robs people of their dignity and splendor. It always demeans us.

WOUNDED HIM

We have all been wounded by other less than perfect humans, even by our family and those close to us.

DEPARTED AND LEFT HIM TO DIE

Everyone hates a loser. Ever felt left alone when you need people the most?

What amazes me is that people in real need still cannot bring themselves to call on God for His help. They continue to say no to God’s great love. WHY?

FIRSTLY: THEY BELIEVE IT IS THEIR FAULT

One of the saddest things I do as a Pastor is to counsel people who have been abused as children, and see them live with the lie that it was in some way their fault.

No-one deliberately intends to mess up their lives. Most people are going about their lives as usual and fall into the wrong crowd or get ambushed by some evil person.

If you are in this situation today, do not believe it is your fault. YES! You have made many mistakes, but there has been a sinister plot to destroy your life by the enemy of your soul – the devil. You must know that God sent His only son Jesus to take the punishment for your sins and to redeem you into His loving care. Stuff happens. When it does, turn to God and He will redeem you from the works of the evil one.
