DREAMS CREATE MOMENTUM

Dreams are like gusts of fresh air to the spark of desire.

From the moment you allow a dream to fill your soul it begins to stir up the flames of passion.

Momentum comes from the energy produced by a dream believed.

Dreamers understand the force of momentum.

Circumstances do not create momentum, they respond to it.

Momentum is created when a person dares to believe a dream, makes it known, and acts upon it.

There isn’t a mountain high enough, or valley low enough, to stop the progress of those people who diligently pursue their dream.

Too many round-a-bouts

We live in an area of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland where every entrance and exit to our estate is bounded by round-a-bouts.
Because of this our cars develop a number of problems in their front ends and with extra-ordinary tyre wear.
Got to thinking how much like real life this is for all of us.
Round- a-bouts represent options for exits in life.
if you have too many round-a-bouts in your life it means you are keeping too many options open in life.
Round-a-bouts cause the following problems in life.
1. Loss of momentum – if you are continually looking for options to change direction you will never gain momentum in the things you are currently doing.
2. Excessive wear on your front end – we are designed to live with faith and vision. if you keep your options open you will have trouble maintaining your front end of vision and faith.
3. Excessive wear – you will find life very wearing and draining if you are forever considering your options.
4. Sickness and dizziness for your passengers – going around corners all the time upsets the others in your life who are doing the journey with you.
5. You are hard to follow – it is difficult to follow someone who is constantly considering exit options in life.
Make up your mind this year to set your course toward achieving something great
Then put your foot down and get some momentum happening.
Then stay focussed – get over a few speedbumps and potholes and stay the journey.
This is your best opportunity for greatness ever.
In uncertain times resolute people stand out like a beacon on a hill.
Or a Porsche on a super highway.

A LIFE OF ACTION

LIGHTS,CAMERA ACTION.

I was speaking recently to a conference on leadership and urging them to understand the power of taking action.

So often in our lives it is the inertia of inactivity that locks us into a spiralling cycle of negative and destructive habits.

If only I had acted at the time; or, I should have jumped at the chance.

Why didn’t I do something? Over and over again you hear people lamenting their inactivity and loss of an opportunity.

Action creates action. When you take action, further actions are required, and so you begin to make progress and build momentum.

The lawn never gets cut while you sit and watch television, but once you decide to act, the lawn soon gets mown and usually then the car gets washed or some other chore gets completed. Why? Because action creates action.

Make up your mind to live an action packed life.

Do not be a spectator watching others have all the excitement of action in their lives.

Get enthusiastic about something in your life and take action.

Enthusiasm produces energy;

energy produces action;

action produces achievement

and achievement produces enthusiasm.

Once you get started on any project just keep the action happening and soon momentum will kick in, and you will be amazed at how much can be achieved.

Life was meant to be lived through creative action not through reaction.

Take control and decide to act creatively to make your life what you once dreamed it could be.

New glasses

On a recent trip to Sth Africa I was taken by helicopter from Jburg to Sun City. During the flight I needed glasses to do some video filming and so the pilot of the chopper took his off and gave them to me.
I remonstrated with him that he needed them to read his instruments but he said he only needed to do that for take off and landing. The rest of the time he flew by feel and bigger picture vision.
I was struck by how true that is in life.
Usually you only need to read all the details and the fine print at the beginning or the end of an adventure.
The rest of the time we should be flying high and using our big picture vision.
People who are continually needing to read the fine print often get bogged down in technicalities and procedures and often don’t achieve much in life.
Check out if you are still flying high enjoying some great adventure flight or if you are tied down with all the fine print and details all the time.
Big picture people overlook the small stuff. They are not careless but they do know how to run with momentum once they get something up and going.
Funny thing was that the pilot gave me the glasses when we landed in Sun City – so God only knows how he read the dials for takeoff and landing on the way home.
Perhaps he had learned his craft well enough to recognize the signs without having to see every small detail.
Stop checking every detail of everything you do – by now you should be able to fly blindfolded you have done it so many times.
Point being made – check the details well when you start some grand flight, but once you are up and running fly high with big picture vision and enjoy the flight.

Hope is alive

The late Teddy Kennedy will be remembered for his quote “Hope is Alive and the Dream continues.”
Hope is not passive but creates three ppwerful waves in a persons life.
Hope firstly produces a wave of desire within a person. When hope dies all your desires die with it and then all that remains are fears and dreads.
The first sign of hope is a strong desire for something.
The second wave of hope is expectation. Desire now grows to become a strong expectation. By keeping hope alive you are creating waves of inner momentum and now a strong expectation has started to grow within you.
The third wave of hope is enthusiasm.
The thing you desire is now anticipated to arrive and you enthusiastically prepare for it in your life.
Hope is not passive but is the development of a strong inner environment from which an outward action of faith can be taken.
You must allow hope to stay alive and grow in your inner world and as you do it will produce an environment in which your expectation will mobilise you to take action and bring about your desired results.
I am hoping for better things continually and so I continue to allow the waves of hope to surge within me until I enthusiastically express my inner hope as an outward action of faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for – the evidence of things not seen.

LIFE CONFERENCE NZ

The LIFE conference in Auckland NZ commenced tonight with Chris Caine as guest speaker. Paul & Marie DeJong are the Senior Pastors of LIFE which is an awesome church spread across five locations in and around Auckland. Their conference is growing every year and is now one of the most significant Christian events in NZ. I consider it a great honour to be able to join with the LIFE team for this years conference.

Hey please join me in prayer for a few things.

A. Steve Kennedy as he ministers across the United Kingdom.

B. Pastor Alun Davies daughter Karen, who is still very ill with a mystery brain illness.

C. For Japan as we watch and wait to see what God is doing in this great nation. I think I will have to go there soon to connect and see what God is doing.

D. For the Hillsong Conference coming up in just over seven weeks time. An awesome God occasion.

E. For all the valiant people who have embarked on our 70 days to excel. Keep stretching for the prize.

F. For our friends James and Sam MacPherson who are now Senior Pastors of the Calvary Church in Townsville. They are seeing amazing things happen so pray the momentum will continue to increase.
