DREAMS DELIGHT THE SOUL

Your soul longs to be nourished by more than sensory knowledge.

There is within you a longing for the supernatural.

The invisible and intangible world is your God created default domain.

Your soul longs to experience the pleasure of the dream realm and it is through dreams that the invisible world enters your soul.

There is nothing quite like the joy of an idea or dream inspiring your soul to believe in things bigger than your present lot in life.

It is like a gust of fresh air on a dying spark of enthusiasm.

It stirs you to believe with fresh longing and passion.

True success in life, is found by those who know how to delight their soul in the wonders of the invisible realm.

Even greater – is the joy known by those souls who have reached into the invisible realm by faith, and have been restored and strengthened by the masterly touch of the creator’s hand.

Dreams are like gusts of fresh air to the spark of desire.

From the moment you allow a dream to fill your soul it begins to stir up the flames of passion.

Momentum comes from the energy produced by a dream believed.

Dreamers understand the force of momentum.

Circumstances do not create momentum, they respond to it.

Momentum is created when a person dares to believe a dream, makes it known, and acts upon it.

There isn’t a mountain high enough, or valley low enough, to stop the progress of those people who diligently pursue their dream.

DREAMS CREATE CONVICTIONS

Convictions are the eternal foundations laid within your spirit (your inner core), upon which you build the house of your dreams.

The stronger your convictions in life, the stronger the foundations of your life!

Convictions are the core beliefs you have allowed to embed within your spirit, which; as you grow, form the foundation of your world view and behaviour.

These convictions form in your life in three ways;

1. CULTURE People and values you are exposed to as you grow – form our convictions within.

2. CRISIS Circumstances can impact a person to such a degree that convictions are formed or changed.

3. CONCEPTION Conceiving of a dream or desire within your spirit will create a conviction which then ignites the fires of passion.

Without convictions your house of dreams has no invisible or eternal foundations.

DREAMS ARE BORN IN YOUR SPIRIT

Every human being has a dream capacity.

It is your God given link with the invisible world.

Dreams are conceived in your spirit and then grow within you.

While a thought is still in your mind, it is simply a good idea, but when it strikes in your spirit – a dream is born.

Conception must take place before a DREAM CONVICTION is born, so keep thinking on that creative thought until it strikes in your spirit.

Once it strikes inside you, conviction is born.

Convictions then produce passion: and from passion comes your enthusiasm or life energy.

Whatever you are passionate about – you will pursue.

Dreams are born in the eternal realm of your spirit, and then produce inspired thoughts and ideas, which in turn produce action and behaviour.

WHO YOU FOLLOW

WHO YOU FOLLOW – DETERMINES WHO YOU CAN LEAD.

The art of leadership is determined by who you follow – which then affects who you can get to follow you.

The level of our leadership is markedly changed by our associations with those ahead of us.

The people following you – often demand your attention toward them – when what they really need – is to release you to learn from those ahead of you on the journey.

By associating with bigger, larger, bolder, more visionary, and more generous people, you will be inspired to return to your community and emulate the attitudes and examples seen in those at the next level.

The next level is not found by climbing a set of stairs. The next level is attained by copying and acting like those who already have attained it.

If you give all your attention to maintaing what you now, have you will never have enough faith and stamina to launch out and have a go at something you learned from those ahead of you.

The more time you spend with next level people – the more their behaviour will become normal for you.

It is normal for us to gravitate to people with whom we are comfortable. However such people will never inspire you to do the unthinkable and the impossible.

Mixing with people at the next level will demand actions and investments of you, that at first you think are impossible.

However if you persist in such actions you will eventually find yourself at home in such company.

The kind of people I like to follow – are those who have been in their roles long enough to overcome some challenges and stay on course.

They are people who have more than a head full of books – but also have a heart full of passion.

They are people who are inclusive and not exclusive of people at all levels.

They are people who give you their time – their insights and their support when needed.

I love following big thinking people. It frightens me sometimes – but it always keeps me reaching higher.

Thank God for Godly people who like to be followed.

The window of freedom

I am sitting on the 19th floor of my hotel looking out to sea at the Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for such a long period of time. His years behind bars must have seemed an eternity to him and certainly appeared without hope. And yet one of the most haunting of all his paintings is one where he portrays the view he saw through the bars of his cell window. He was able to look back toward His beloved South Africa and see the outline of the mountains of Cape Town. His island prison looks to be only a few kilometres out to sea and yet the gulf of divide during the horrible years of apartheid must have seemed uncrossable. But to me the great story of Nelson Mandela is his vision. He continued to look through the tiny window of his cell and see a vision of his Africa of the future.
Remember there is no prison cell that can contain and restrict vision.
There is no regime that can crush the passion filled spirit.
There is no crisis that can stop the progress of a man or woman filled with hope of a better tomorrow.
To Nelson Mandela we owe a great debt.
He demonstrated to the world – the power of hope.
And then when change came and his hopes began to come to pass – he excercised the grace of forgiveness to all those who had opposed his dreams.
The island on the horizon looks so insignificant – yet to me it stands as a beacon of hope declaring that anything is possible – if you can just truly believe.

Down Time

The way a person spends their down time – determines how good they will be in their up time.
Down time happens to all of us. A day off – a missed plane flight – a delay in traffic – a holiday break. Down time can be planned or forced upon us.
To enjoy down time and get the most out of it you must make a deliberate choice to use Down Time to do just that. Wind down – tone down – slow down – lie down – shut down etc.
The whole idea of down time is to get off the rocket ship of life and let your whole being breathe and relax for a short while.
Things like power naps – breakouts – coffee chats – long walks or runs – gym sessions – TV escapes- anything to change you from go mode.
Problem is we get so used to being in go mode that we don’t know how to stop being competitive or urgent in all we do.
Here are some hints on making the most of time outs.
1. Breathe differently – take long deep slow breaths until you feel your body relaxing.
2. Talk differently – say things softer and slower. Put more passion in your words and only use kind words.
3. Look at life differently – take notice of things that are not in your vision scope. Look at things that would normally bore you and find out why others are interested in them.
4. Listen more – listening without the need for a reply is very relaxing. Other people have good opinions too.
5. Connect with a B list person. – Find someone not on your A list and treat them as though they are.
6. Make some happy noise – sing, whistle or hum something happy. Your whole being responds to happy sounds.
7. Be random – don’t plan anything. Just head out and see where you all end up. Make the time an adventure.

Time outs may only be an hour or two but you can still apply many of the above tips.
If you are bored out of your brain when presented with down time then remember this – if you don’t let yourself have proper downtime – you will not be able to sustain your uptime when it really matters. Just chill.

THE GOD FACTOR IN BUSINESS

Introduction.

Life is all about empowerment. God has empowered everybody to succeed in life.

John 10:10, ” I am come that you might have life,

and to possess it to it’s fullest here on earth.”

God has made it easy for people to be successful.

KEYS TO BUSINESS SUCCESS IN LIFE FROM PSALM 107: 36

1. HE MAKES THE HUNGRY DWELL PASSION & PERMANENCE

Passion is the starting point for any successful life. However, many a people who are passionate to succeed, can end up running from one good idea to the next, harming not only their business future, but often their marriage, family and relationships.

Passion is wonderful, and should be seen as a hunger to do well, but it must be harnessed so that a dwelling mentality is established.

COMMITMENT ONE. I AM STAYING UNTIL IT WORKS

2. THEY MAY ESTABLISH A CITY COMMITTED TO BUILDING

Once you have made up your mind that you will stick around until it works, you must then start to strategize and form plans to build something worthwhile. A city is made up of infrastructure, other people, wise management etc. To build a city is different to making money. It means you are prepared to succeed for the good of a greater number of people than yourself. God empowers people to be successful so that they can be involved together in financing things that will build their city and make it a place where people can dwell in peace.

Your life is meant to be lived for more than plowing a field and reaping a harvest. There is more to life than making money.

COMMITMENT TWO. I AM BUILDING FOR OTHERS.

3. SOW FIELDS SHORT TERM SOWERS

People who sow fields know that they only have to wait a number of months and they will reap a harvest. They learn to quickly get a cash flow going to sustain them as they plan and develop the bigger city picture. Many people never get past living off the short term harvests.

To sow a field means that you must first plow the field and prepare it for sowing and reaping. This means hard work.

COMMITMENT THREE PREPARE YOUR FIELD FOR A RETURN

4. PLANT VINEYARDS LONG TERM INVESTORS

The wise business person is now looking at ways to plant his short term gains into longer term harvests. True wealth comes from the long term crops. They produce a much higher value yield.

Whilst working hard to reap the short term crops, a wise steward is also looking at ways to build long term plants into his economy.

An amount must be taken from every crop harvest and invested into longer term projects that are not dependent upon the same seasonal issues.

COMMITMENT FOUR STRUCTURE FOR LONG TERM GAINS.

5. YIELD A FRUITFUL HARVEST COMMITTED TO PROFIT

Many people look forward to their harvests so that they can use it all on lifestyle. They live from one year to the next. They have good harvests etc. but do not have a mindset or dream to continue investing to build a city through which many people get blessed. You must have a “yield” mindset. Every year should produce a fruitful yield that then increases your ability to “sow, plant and birth.”

COMMITMENT FIVE CONTINUED PROFITABILITY.

6. HE ALSO BLESSES THEM GRACE & FAVOUR

Now we look for the factors that cannot be factored in.

The grace and favour of God is available to everyone who lives by faith.

Romans 5:2 says that we access the grace of God through faith.

Faith in God, pleases God. God blesses the righteous who live by faith.

Smart people seek the blessing of God upon their lives.

God will bless people with the following characteristics.

A/ Righteousness through Jesus Christ

B/ Character through communion with God.

C/ Wisdom through Word meditation

D/ Humility through heart control

E/ Empowerment through Holy Spirit gifts.

F/ Fruitfulness through wise stewardship

COMMITMENT SIX SEEK GOD’S BLESSING

7. THEY MULTIPLY GREATLY THE GOD FACTOR

There is a God Factor in life that people just cannot understand.

The multiplication factor can only take place on THINGS DEDICATED TO GOD. God will bless everyone who lives by faith and obeys His commands. However there is a level of success that is supernatural and cannot be enjoyed except through a life of generous giving.

God will multiply any fruitful thing that you give into His economy.

GOD MULTIPLIES FRUITFUL THINGS GIVEN TO HIS CAUSE.

The key to multiplication is to give God the opportunity of increasing as

large a part of your harvest as possible.

People who live in God’s multiplication zone are ultimately the people

who build cities.

They leave behind a testament to the power of God.

ULTIMATE COMMITMENT TO MULTIPLY GREATLY

MIXING WITH GREAT PEOPLE

I had the privilege of speaking on Tuesday at the Hillsong Staff Camp in the Blue Mountains. It was an awesome experience and I have returned to KINGS so inspired from seeing a team of 400 staff in love & unity together. I felt as though I had been planted amongst greatness. And yet there is such a humility amongst the team and a recognition that God has graced them to have influence and to be a blessing to the global church.

I have a few observations from my short visit with them.

1. There is a definite sense of passion and expectation for the future.

2. There is a willingness to go forward and change to keep growing in God.

3. There is a culture of honour among them that causes all to rise to greater levels of effectiveness and influence.

4. There is a willingness to follow and support Godly leadership – and to stand as one man together.

Something awesome is happening at Hillsong and just I think this years Hillsong Conference will be the best we have ever experienced.
