2018 – SATURDAY 31 MARCH
THE COLOURS OF EASTER SATURDAY
Easter is our glorious celebration of the work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary.
Consider the colours seen on Easter Saturday. The day following the awful event of the cross.
1. THE BLACK DARKNESS OF THE TOMB
Jesus was locked into a tomb cut into the side of a hill.
It was dark, gloomy and foreboding – and declared this is the end.
The disciples were also wallowing in the blackness of their sorrow.
DON’T LET THE BLACKNESS OF A BAD SEASON – DECLARE IT IS THE END FOR YOU.
2. THE BROWN EARTHINESS OF THE TOMB
The tomb is the dwelling place for dead people and drags your flesh down to the dust.
Do not allow your failing flesh to drag you down to an earthy existence.
Drab and boring is not your new life in Christ. Hang on there are better days ahead.
3. THE WHITE WRAPPING ROBES OF JESUS
Jesus came from His Father in heaven – and his white garments depict his purity and perfection.
Even in death his divinity shone through.
Make sure you are wrapped in the glorious white robes of his righteousness. He did this all for you.
4. THE SCARLET STAINS OF HIS CRIMSON BLOOD
The most glorious colour of all is the scarlet stains of the wounded one.
His blood is his signature declaring the deal is done and it is finished.
We are forgiven and cleansed – by the crimson flow of our saviour’s blood.
NOW ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS WAIT FOR THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST – AND THIS WORK GOES VIRAL.
SUNDAY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.
