2018 – SUNDAY 10 JUNE
THE DOCTRINE OF FAITH
Paul warns his son in the faith Timothy – to commit to his doctrine of faith in Christ.
1 Timothy 1:3
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
1 Timothy 1:4
“nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.”
ANY OTHER DOCTRINE CAUSES…
DOCTRINE OF FAITH CAUSES….
EDIFICATION IN FAITH
1 Timothy 1:5
“Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith,”
THE PURPOSE OF THIS DOCTRINE IS LOVE
1. FROM A PURE HEART
2. FROM A GOOD CONSCIENCE
3. FROM SINCERE FAITH
Paul forcefully commands Timothy to keep the main thing – the main main thing.
The Christian life is a life of love.
As God so loved – you are to so love one another.
It seems as though the more you commit to the doctrine of faith – the more it will produce a life of love.
The more you live a life of love – the more it…
Purify your heart
Keep your conscience clear
Strengthen you in your faith
A NEW DOCTRINE I GIVE TO YOU
