THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

2019 – FRIDAY 23 AUGUST

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

ISAIAH 21:11
The burden against Dumah.
He calls me out of Sier.
Watchman what of the night?
Watchman what of the night?
The watchman said, the morning comes and also the night.
If you will inquire, inquire;
Return! Come back.

WHO IS THIS DUMAH PERSON

DUMAH A SON OF ISHMAEL
Part faith and part flesh.
Ultimately an enemy of God’s people.

DUMAH MEANS DEADLY SILENCE
His name means the silence of death – or deadly silence.
He also built the city of Dumah, where it seems as though death and darkness prevailed.

THE PROVERB OF DUMAH
A Hebrew proverb was made using Dumah and two of his brothers.
Somehow these three were the inspiration for the following proverb;
Hear much – say little – bear much.

WHEN THE CHURCH REMAINS SILENT
Sadly today the contemporary church has adopted the wisdom of Dumah.

A. SEE AND HEAR MUCH
The capacity of modern technology to see and know all things has produced a generation of world smart fools.

B. SAY LITTLE TO UPSET OTHERS
The three great words of the contemporary church are – kindness – tolerance – patience.
They sound so nice but they are producing a generation of conviction-less insipid Christians.
Faith on the other hand is an action of courage and boldness.

C. BEAR MUCH
The wages of sin is death. To remain silent and allow sin to dominate our world is to allow death to reign in our cities
Why are we taught to grin and bear it as though it is our lot in life.
WE WILL NOT BE SILENT
