2017 – SUNDAY 13 AUGUST
“Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury.
And many who were rich put in much.
Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.
So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.” LESSONS FROM THE TREASURY.
1. THE TEMPLE TREASURY IS GOD’S IDEA
Your treasure ties your heart to the place it is sown.
You have three options with your resource.
Only one has a God promise of good returns. SOW IT into His House.
2. RICH AND POOR FIND COMMON GROUND IN THE TREASURY
Both rich and poor are on common ground in the treasury.
God has no special circumstance exclusions. You are never too rich or too poor to come to the treasury.
3. JESUS COMMENDS ALL GIVING IN THE TREASURY
Jesus commends all who come – for their giving into the treasury, but then teaches – only giving that requires wholehearted faith, is acceptable in the treasury.
4. GOD HAS A GIVING MEASURE IN THE TREASURY
The measure used in the treasury is called the FAITH measurement.
F – FAITH is required in all actions toward God.
A – ATTITUDE of joyfulness in being able to give.
I – INVESTMENT – must be seen as an investment not a tax
T – TRUTH – all giving must be a truthful expression of your harvest.
H – HOPE – giving must always be linked to a hope of a great harvest in return.
Learn to love your visits to the Temple Treasury.
