THE WILDERNESS WAY

2019 – SATURDAY 13 APRIL

THE WILDERNESS WAY

Exodus 13:17&18
Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.”
So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea.

FOLLOW NOT FIGHT
The way of God is often not the obvious route.
God knows where you are at.
Slaves don’t know how to win in battle.
God wanted to teach His people how to follow Him first.

SHORT CUTS DON’T MAKE CHAMPIONS
The easy seaside route was the shortcut to their destination.
Short cuts always have hidden obstacles. We learn obedience by following God into and through impossibilities. Don’t shy away from the great challenge before you.

SOME ENEMIES ARE TOO STRONG
The Philistines were armed and dangerous. It would have been a disaster to engage them so early in the journey.
Often when people return to their old life of sin – it is because they jumped into the faith life – but could not measure up for the fight.
Learning to follow and trust – are the first lessons of faith.

THE WILDERNESS IS CALLING
So many amazing lessons to be learned in the wilderness.
Following God.
Trusting His leaders.
Believing for breakthrough
Supernatural evidences
Learning to move together
Staying mobile and light
Learning new songs of hope
Staying steadfast
Thankful for the promise

PROMISED LAND IS YOUR PRIZE
The promised land was the prize awaiting God’s people after following Him through the wilderness.
The prize must be possessed.
Too many people don’t believe they are entitled to a great inheritance.
The prize is what we must press toward with diligence of faith.
We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
Fear and awe of God.
Often on trembling and wobbly legs from working out.

TURN YOUR WILDERNESS INTO YOUR PROMISED LAND
The great secret to faith – is to trust in God’s great faithfulness.
His divine grace – will be all sufficient for you, wherever you are.
MAKE TODAY A DAY OF BLESSING.
