THINGS TO REMEMBER IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

Psalm 42:4
When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul within me.
For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

Psalm 42 is a dark time in David’s life. He is crying out to God for His help – and reminds himself and God of His deep longing and love for the presence of God.

I WAS PART OF THE CROWD WHO WENT TO GOD’S HOUSE
There is nothing like the multitudes gathering in God’s House – together as one.
David reminds himself of the buzz of being a part of such gatherings.
Always keep the joy of being in church.

I LIFTED UP MY VOICE IN JOY AND PRAISE
Not only was David a part of the gatherings – but he was front and centre in lifting his voice in praise and celebration toward God.
Always be a participator in church.

I KEPT THE FEASTS OF THE LORD
The feasts of the Lord were special and important gatherings – to remember the great covenants of God with His people.
Always remember God’s covenants of salvation and blessing and walk in them.

THEN YOU ARE READY TO SPEAK TO YOUR SOUL
Psalm 42:5
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.

FIND A WAY TO GATHER TOGETHER
IT IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL
