2019 – TUESDAY 06 AUGUST
DON’T MUZZLE THE OX
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation.
The gospel will always be declared in different ways through different gifts.
We must never try to muzzle the gift of God because it is different to our own.
Consider the different ways the various gifts present the verse…
For God so loved the world
He gave His only son
So that whoever believes in him
Should not perish
But have everlasting life.
For God so loved the world.
The Apostle declares the big picture.
A loving God – a way of salvation – an eternal plan of blessing.
Whoever believes shall not perish.
The prophets declare that whoever believes will not perish from sin. The exposure of sin and the warning of judgement and death is the prophets domain.
Shall have everlasting life.
The evangelist declares the power of God unto salvation with signs following.
He gave His only son.
The Pastor demonstrates the kindness of a loving God toward His fallen creation – to each person individually.
The teacher explains the way of salvation from God’s holy word – the Bible.
So that all who believe may come into full salvation.
Being open to all the expressions of ministry in the church is a great step toward maturity.
Beware of becoming stylistic when hearing the word.
Stop trying to muzzle the ox because they do not declare the message the way you want it to be shared.
Perhaps it is time to go share the gospel to those who are lost in sin – in your own unique way.
Your way of sharing may well be what is needed next in their lives.
