2020 – THURSDAY 12 NOVEMBER
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
SEE PAST FAILING SYSTEMS
There are times in our lives when things are just not working.
It looks like your boat is being swamped by a storm.
Your present system is not working in this new season.
SEE PAST VISUAL DISTORTION
When our world falls apart – we usually look for ghosts and other distorted reasons why stuff is happening.
Conspiracy theories abound and fear of every work of darkness come into our view.
SEE PAST PEER PRESSURE
The cries of the timid in the boat became louder than the storm outside the boat.
We must see past the bleatings and behaviour of beleaguered and bewildered sheep.
SEE PAST STORM SEAS
The evidence of a storm is plain for all to see.
Your SEA may be in turmoil – but never let your SEE – be troubled.
SEE THE PERSON OF JESUS
It is only when you choose to see Jesus in your storm – that you can hear His voice above all other sounds.
What you see determines the sound you hear.
LOOK FOR JESUS IN EVERYTHING – AND YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE
