2020 – SATURDAY 07 NOVEMBER
REPENTANCE AND FAITH
Paul said, You know how
I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you,
and taught you publicly
and from house to house, testifying to Jews,
and also to Greeks,
repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
REPENTANCE & FAITH
Repentance without faith, is legalism – which leads to condemnation.
Repentance with faith, is life in Christ – which leads to freedom.
REPENTANCE TOWARD GOD
God is just in all He is and does.
Justice means equal.
Justice demands an equal punishment for our sin.
God said our punishment for sin is death.
Jesus died to take the equal punishment for our sins.
When we repent toward God – our High Priest in heaven reminds God that the equal sacrifice has been paid.
FAITH TOWARD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
It is through faith in the complete work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary – that we are accepted into the family of God – and forgiven of our sins.
Faith toward Christ means that we believe He has equaled the score and removed our punishment for sin forever.
Faith toward Christ also means that we now find our life in Him.
In Him our punishment is paid.
In Him our provision is released.
In Him our inheritance is sealed.
In Him our future is eternal.
IN HIM WE ARE FREE
